Medium sized Asteroceras in woodstone nodule. The nodule has broken in two halves just cutting through the edge of the Asteroceras which looks like it will be around 7-8cm diameter. On one surface of the woodstone is a thin section of wood. Around it are mussels which would have been attached to the wood. Several small Promicroceras ammonites are revealed on the stones surface, with more probably inside.
Matrix - both halves joined 25cm X 14cm (thickness 6.5cm)
★ ★ Moderate. Relatively easy to clean. Harder rocks that might require and engraver or an air pen (air scribe).
