We are Kate and Mihai (it’s Romanian for Michael, and rhymes with ‘knee-high’ to a grasshopper if that makes it easier), a husband and wife team who make fossil preparation tools from scratch, right here in the UK. Having lived and worked on our postgraduate studies in palaeontology and geology in Transylvania for a few years, we are now based in the lovely Dorset countryside, a stone’s throw away from the Jurassic Coast.
Starting out with one tool between us and an enormous backlog of unprepped dinosaur skeletons, we began creating our own tools based on our designs and requirements. We worked out that we could produce quality, handcrafted, reliable and purpose-built pneumatic fossil preparation tools at sensible prices for hobbyists, amateurs and professionals alike.
The demand for our tools is growing enomously, and we’re doing our best to keep up without an iota of compromising on quality. We’re so excited to share our products with the world, and love nothing more than receiving feedback to keep growing and learning (and it mostly just warms our cockles when people enjoy what we’ve made).
As firm believers in ‘try-before-you-buy’, we welcome visitors to come and try our tools out at our slightly ramshackled workshop on their way through to the Jurassic Coast.
We hope you enjoy browsing our website,
